”People commit crime for selfish reasons.” Do you agree with the statement? Justify your opinion.

In this modernization and globalization era, the incidence of crime is increased anywhere and worrying the public. The definition of crime is an act that is not tolerated by the society and is prohibited by the law such as robbery, stealing  and rape. In this text, the word selfish refer to the feeling of being inconsiderable and egoistic . So it is agreed that people commit crime for selfish reasons. There are three reasons why people commit crime for selfish reasons.
Firstly, the reason to agree this statement is because some of them craving for money. People tend to commit crimes to get more money because they want to increase the standard of their living life such as having a luxurious life. If they are having desire to have more money, they will tend to go against the laws and get involved in many illegal activities like robbery without thinking other people feeling.
Next, the person is influence by jealousy of what the other person have. They will try to make themselves in same situation with the other lucky person to get the satisfaction. For example, when a person is too show off with the things that he buys because of his or her economic condition, then other people will feel jealous and this can influence crime to happen.
Lastly, people commit crime for selfish reasons because they want to survive in their life. Some people that do not have good educational background could not get a proper job to sustain a living in the city with the high cost standard. As a result, this will lead them to commit crimes such as stealing, and kidnapping to survive. Therefore, committing crimes for survival in their life is a selfish action.
In conclusion, it is strongly agreed that people commit crimes for their own purposes and their selfish action are not a good reasons for committing crimes as it will cause distress to others.

Academic Excellence Guarantees a Successful Life

In this era of development, academic excellence among the young is given much importance. Although, it is acceptable to achieve a good academic results, the idea that only academic excellence guarantees a successful life is not relevant and its depend on the characteristics of a person like hardworking, smart, and talented.
There are some example people that can success through their talent and not through their academic excellence. For example, artist that did not complete her study is Stacy Angie Anam. She left her secondary school without taking the examination SPM. She then managed to become the winner in the television reality show called “Akademi Fantasia” in season 6 who became the youngest contestant ever to win the competition in the age of 18.
Besides that, another example is the sellers of Sabah crafting. The people who only have their own creativity and innovative skills can produce a unique handicraft that can attract public to buy their handicraft. The craft makers can achieve their successful in life through their business skills.
In addition, traditional or modern dancers who usually perform their show on an invited event also can be a good example of people that can success without a good academic result. This is because not everyone can dance the dance and only those who have the special gift or natural talent can make the dance perfectly. Thus, through the talents or ability to dance, the dancers might be able to work as a professional dancer.
In conclusion, people can also success without a good academic excellence. Even if they are not good enough in academic, they still can become successful person through their skills, talent and ability to achieve their goal.
